What is high density storage?

High density storage is an innovative concept that is based on the idea of storing items in less space. This concept is supported by different products related to automated storage solutions that have the same basic function. High-density storage helps in preserving inventories that compact together thus eliminating the need for excess aisle space. When modernised storage systems are compared to the traditional shelving or lateral cabinets they offer a similar amount of storage capacity but with approximately 50% less floor/vertical space consumption.

The space between the rows of the shelving (known as access aisles) is where you walk through to get any item that you need. These access aisles are no longer useful in today’s fast-paced progress. This is because the huge amount of space occupied by the aisle takes a longer time to explore and navigate. Getting rid of the access aisles can make a huge difference and high-density storage systems are designed just for that.
